Daniel L. Prenner attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he joined the South Carolina Law Review, the South Carolina Moot Court Bar and the Order of the Wig and Robe. After graduation from law school in 2000, Mr. Prenner clerked for a United States District Court Judge, and then worked at the law firm of Nelson Mullins Riley and Scarborough, LLP, in Columbia, South Carolina. Mr. Prenner left Nelson Mullins in 2003 to join the Charleston County Public Defender’s Office, where he gained invaluable trial experience. Mr. Prenner opened his own law firm in 2005. He also served as a jury trial prosecutor for the City of Charleston, from 2009 to 2012. Since 2005, Mr. Prenner’s practice has focused on family law matters. He enjoys helping clients navigate their way through the family court process. Mr. Prenner is a certified family court mediator, and a member of the Charleston County Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, and the South Carolina Association for Justice. He also serves as a panel member on the South Carolina Bar Fee Dispute Resolution Board. In 2018, Mr. Prenner attended the National Family Law Trial Institute’s intensive trial advocacy training program, in Houston, Texas.
Elizabeth “Liz” J. Stringer is an attorney practicing primarily in civil litigation with a focus on family and probate law. In addition to her litigation practice, she is passionate about using alternate forms of dispute resolution to solve legal problems. To this end, Liz is certified in collaborative law, mediation and arbitration.
Liz was raised on Folly Beach, South Carolina. She attended Nativity Grade School and Bishop England High School. Upon graduating from Bishop England in 1994, she attended the University of South Carolina where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Religious Studies. She graduated in 1998 cum laude from the University of South Carolina.
Upon her graduation from the University School of Law in 2002, she was admitted to practice law in South Carolina. Since that time, Liz has practiced law with her father, Rick on James Island, South Carolina. She is an active member of the South Carolina and Charleston Bar Associations. She is a former Board member of the South Carolina Collaborative Law Institute and former President of the Mediation and Meeting Center of Charleston.
Liz is a native of Folly Beach where she currently resides with her husband, Andrew, and their (collective) children, Reese, Riley, Ellison, Bret, Aoife and Cotton.
Originally from Spartanburg, South Carolina, Emily moved to Charleston in 2004 to join the inaugural class of the Charleston School of Law. Emily has pursued her passion to represent individuals in the Family Court throughout the Lowcountry. Emily opened Ayers Family Law, LLC in 2010. The law firm is focused 100% in the Family Court representing clients in Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties. Emily also serves as a Guardian ad Litem, representing children whose families are involved in custody/visitation disputes. In 2013, Emily became certified as a Family Court mediator in South Carolina.
Guy J. Vitetta, originally from Philadelphia, PA, graduated from Ohio’s Kenyon College and from Capital University Law School in Columbus, OH in 1991.
Guy served as a Public Defender in Ohio and South Carolina for eleven years before opening his private practice in Charleston, South Carolina.
After practicing family law for a year, Guy became motivated to find better ways of solving family disputes. He sought out alternatives and became the first attorney in South Carolina trained in Collaborative Law. He is a founding member and past president of the South Carolina Collaborative Law Institute. He is also a Certified Family Court Mediator in South Carolina and co-founder of the Mediation and Meeting Center of Charleston.
Guy serves on the South Carolina Bar Practice and Procedure Committee. In addition, in partnership with Sean Keefer, he is a founding member of settlyd.com, a cloud based software solution for family law attorneys currently in use by over 100 law firms in South Carolina. Guy has a private practice in the City of Charleston, South Carolina which is limited to Domestic Relations.
Jill Eskin Major HaLevi received her law degree from the University of Michigan, and she has been a member of the South Carolina Bar since 1995. She has extensive courtroom experience from her 10 years of litigation on behalf of clients in criminal court prior to entering private practice, having served as an attorney at the Charleston County Public Defender and then at the Federal Defenders of Charleston. During this time, she handled cases ranging from property and drug offenses to murder. She also attended multiple national training institutes to hone her courtroom skills. Jill was instrumental in the development of the Charleston County Drug and Mental Health Courts, and she represented half of all the clients in Drug Court for several years. She has also represented individual clients in the Federal Bridge (drug court) program both as public defender and in private practice.
In addition to her criminal court background, Jill spent two years working on legal issues relating to Israel, first at an organization dedicated to advocating and mediating on behalf of workers in employment disputes, and then as an attorney representing victims of terrorist attacks. She is a certified Guardian ad Litem and has been trained in Collaborative Law and in victim-offender mediation. Jill has been certified by the South Carolina Bar as both a civil court and family court mediator. Since entering private practice in 2009, Jill continues to handle select federal court criminal matters, but has spent most of her time in Family Court, where she represents clients, serves as a mediator, and accepts select Guardian ad Litem appointments.
With this diverse background, Jill brings a unique perspective and array of skills to her practice. She has a wide network of professionals with whom she collaborates in complex cases. Jill is excited to be part of the CCFLA as a means of expanding options available to clients seeking non-litigious resolution of Family Court matters.
John Knobeloch is from Orangeburg, South Carolina and has resided in Mount Pleasant since 1996. He graduated from Clemson University and from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He clerked for the honorable Sidney T. Floyd in Horry county, was a D.S.S. staff attorney, and worked in private practice in Spartanburg and Charleston. He opened King & Knobeloch, P.C. in 1999 focusing primarily on real estate and domestic issues.
He has received training in mediation, and collaborative law, and is active in the Charleston County Guardian ad Litem Association and the Charleston Cooperative Family Law Association.
Mary Murray graduated Magna Cum Laude from Niagara University in 1987, attending on a basketball scholarship. She graduated from State University of New York at Buffalo in May 1990 and is licensed to practice law in South Carolina and New York. Before relocating to Charleston in 2000, Mary was a partner at one of oldest and most prestigious law firms in Western New York where she was a civil litigator. In Charleston she discovered her my passion- helping individuals facing family conflict. Mary is a family law and child custody attorney who believes in applying common sense to avoid a courtroom battle if the circumstances warrant. She has a background of serving as a court appointed Guardian ad Litem, representing children’s best interests in high conflict custody disputes, a mediator guiding opposing parties in reaching settlement to their conflict, and a busy practice with contested and uncontested cases in the Family Courts in the Lowcountry.
Natalie Parker Bluestein grew up in Charleston and graduated from the College of Charleston with a BA in English. She has a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of South Carolina and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She has practiced Family Law at Bluestein & Douglas, LLC since 1999.
Mrs. Bluestein has been on numerous non-profit Boards and has chaired numerous volunteer committees for a number of non-profit organizations, including the Junior League of Charleston, Inc. (currently Sustainer Circle Chair), Charleston Stage Company, the Jewish Community Center of Charleston, SC Women Lawyers Association (former president), Charleston County Bar Association (former president), Family Recovery Court of Charleston (former Chair), Battery Gadsden Cultural Center, Gibbes Museum of Art (Women’s Council), and the Footlight Players Board of Directors.
Natalie and her husband have two English Springer Spaniels who go to work with them, four cats who run the household, and lots of fish. She is delighted to be on the Board at Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary.
Sabrina is originally from Troy, New York and has lived in South Carolina since 1978. She grew up in Ballantine, graduating from Irmo High School and earning her Bachelors of Arts degree in English from the College of Charleston in 1990. After receiving her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, she moved to Charleston in 1995. She was an associate at Rosen, Rosen and Hagood from 1995 to 2000 under the mentorship of Robert N. Rosen and the other partners at the firm. In 2000, she entered into partnership with former family court judge L. Mendel Rivers, Jr. in Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Rivers retired from the practice in 2005. Ms. Grogan has been a solo practitioner in Mt. Pleasant since that time. Her practice has been and continues to be focused on domestic issues. She also practices in the probate court. Ms. Grogan is a certified mediator and is committed to helping her clients achieve the best possible outcomes with a cooperative approach.
