Diane Current

Diane Current graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina in 1976 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. After teaching for several years, Ms. Current relocated to Columbus, Ohio, where she was the training director for a Franklin County day care training program. She earned her Juris Doctor Degree from The Ohio State University in 1987.

Upon relocating to Charleston, South Carolina, Ms. Current served as Assistant Solicitor for the Ninth Judicial Circuit in the Berkeley County Family Court, where she prosecuted child abuse and neglect cases and juvenile matters. Ms. Current began her private practice of family law with the law firm of Rosen, Rosen and Hagood, PA where she practiced from 1988 to 1998. She was with the Nexsen Pruet law firm from 1998 until June of 2007, and with Craver & Current, PA, from 2007 to 2013.  In 2013, Ms. Current established Current Law Firm, PA, a statewide family law practice located in Charleston, South Carolina.

Ms. Current has been formally trained in Family Law mediation, arbitration, and collaborative law, and has advocated a cooperative approach to dispute resolution for many years.  She has received an “AV” rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory, the highest rating afforded to lawyers for legal ability and ethics, and is listed as a South Carolina “Super Lawyer.”

Since 2008, Ms. Current has served as an adjunct professor at the Charleston School of Law, teaching Domestic Relations, South Carolina Family Law, and Advanced Domestic Relations.  She maintains the following professional memberships: American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (National Board of Governors); American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Foundation; South Carolina Chapter, American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (Past President); American Bar Association (Family Law Section; Alternative Dispute Resolution Section); South Carolina Bar Association (Family Law Section; Alternative Dispute Resolution Section); Charleston County Bar Association; South Carolina Women Lawyer’s Association; South Carolina Super Lawyers
