Jennifer Shafer

Jennifer Shafer is an attorney practicing primarily in Family Court focusing on matters that involve divorce and child custody. She educates, counsels, and empowers clients to make informed decisions in connection with their cases based upon realistic risk-benefit analysis and application of the law to unique circumstances. She prides herself on communicating with clients throughout every step of their case, discussing case strategy, answering questions effectively, and preparing clients and witnesses for court hearings, as well as negotiatING with opposing counsel to facilitate amicable resolution when possible.

Jennifer was born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona. She graduated summa cum laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Prior to attending law school, she owned and operated a successful wine bar and restaurant.

Jennifer attended the Charleston School of Law, where she was recognized as a Presidential Honors Scholar. While in law school, she had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain and The Hague. She is a member of the South Carolina Family Law American Inn of Courts, Charleston County Bar Association, South Carolina Women Lawyers Association, and Junior League of Charleston.

When she is not in the office, Jennifer enjoys competitive running, boating, exploring the Charleston food scene, and hanging out with her adorable Pomeranian, Dooley.
